The Dutch National Team mercilessly massacred Tiimnas Gibraltar 6-0 in the 2022 World Cup Group G qualifying match for the European zone in De Kuip, Rotterdam, the Netherlands, Tuesday, October 12 in the early hours of the morning, according to the official FIFA website.

Memphis Depay scored two goals, while the remaining four goals were scored by Virgil van Dijk, Denzel Dumfries, Arnaut Danjuma and Donyell Malen.

In front of their supporters, the Netherlands appeared aggressive from the start by taking the lead in the 9th minute through Van Dijk’s header after following Depay’s corner. Score 1-0.

In the 18th minute, the Netherlands was awarded a penalty after Graeme Torrilla made a handball in the forbidden box. Unfortunately, the execution of Depay’s penalty can still be countered by Bradley Banda.

Two minutes later, Depay made up for his failure by scoring an easy goal from close range after receiving Davy Klaassen’s pass. Netherlands lead 2-0.

Shortly before the end of the first half, Depay again added to the Dutch advantage through a penalty kick after Julian Valarino made a handball. The score of 3-0 closed the first half.

After the break, the Oranje team maintained their intensity. In the 48th minute, Lang’s action from the left was completed with Denzel Dumfries’ header in front of goal to put the Netherlands 4-0 up.

De Oranje extended the lead in the 75th minute. Memphis sent in a cross which Wout Weghorst headed and the ball went to Arnaut Danjuma, who slapped it in front of goal.

Still not satisfied with scoring goals. Weghorst sent a through ball to Donyell Malen, and it was cleared at the far post. The score changed to 6-0 and lasted until the game was over.

Winning, the Netherlands is getting stronger at the top of Group G with 19 points, while Gibraltar is slumped in sixth place and has not won any points at all.

The Netherlands, who missed the 2018 World Cup, top Group G but Burak Yilmaz’s 99th-minute penalty that gave Turkey a 2-1 win in Latvia meant they had to wait until next month to secure a top-two spot.

Norway, without the injured Erling Haaland, are two points behind the second-placed Netherlands after beating Montenegro 2-0.
